Dipropylene glycol DME by Clariant is a hygroscopic dipropylene glycol dimethyl ether. Designed to be used as a coalescing agent or as a solvent for polyurethane/isocyanate prepolymer in 2c-PUDs. Exhibits chemical stability, absence of reactive groups, and low toxicity. Offers an alternative to solvents being phased out as a result of the Clean Air Act because it is not listed as a hazardous air pollutant. Completely miscible with most common organic solvents and has limited solubility in water. Forms an azeotrope with water (38% Dipropylene glycol DME and 62% water).Dipropylene glycol DME is used as an environmentally friendly replacement for NMP (N-methyl pyrrolidone).
