12-Hydroxy stearic acid (12 HSA) by Avalon Chemicals is a mixed fatty acid obtained from hydrolysis of hydrogenated castor oil. Possesses a high melting, is brittle and waxy solid at room temperature. It should be stored away from heat to avoid deterioration. It is used in adhesives, lithium as well as calcium-based greases, plasticizers and activator as well as internal lubricant for natural & synthetic rubber.
