Solvents for Adhesives and Sealants

Ethylal by Lambiotte & Cie is diethoxymethane (DEM). It has a high solvent power and is a surface tension reducer. It is an ideal replacement for MEK. Ethylal is produced from a minimum of 80% agricultural ethyl alcohol.

Glycerol Formal by Lambiotte & Cie is a glycerin. It has high solvent power and fully miscible with water. Suitable for use in adhesives. Glycerol Formal is produced from 80 % vegetal glycerin.

Ethyl PROXITOL by Shell Chemicals is a colorless, hygroscopic solvent with volatility, viscosity and solvent power similar to those of ethylene oxide-based glycol ether. It has a shelf life of 12 months.

Hexane Extraction Grade by Shell Chemicals is a special boiling point, fast evaporating hydrocarbon solvent. It consists essentially of hexane isomers with 50% n-hexane. It is designed for adhesive applications. Hexane Extraction Grade possesses very low aromatics and olefins content.

Hexane Polymerisation by Shell Chemicals is a solvent containing about 50% n-hexane, with a similar content of other hexane isomers. It is manufactured to the high standards required by the polymerization industry. It has very low impurities in aromatics, olefins, carbonyls and acid substances. It has a shelf life of 12 months.

Heptane by Shell Chemicals is a special boiling point solvents. It has a narrow boiling range, rapidly evaporating, C7 hydrocarbon solvent. It possesses low aromatics, olefins and n-hexane content. Heptane is used in the formulation of adhesives.

AP 8016 by Admark Polycoats acts as an epoxy diluent or solvent. Used in reactive system adhesives.

AP 8030 by Admark Polycoats is an epoxy diluent or solvent. Used in adhesives.

2-ethylhexylal by Lambiotte & Cie acts as a solvent. It is produced by reaction between alcohol and aldehyde. It shows very good profile for health and environment with regard to toxicity and eco-toxicity. 2-ethylhexylal is a suitable substitute to a wide range of solvent used in adhesive such as PVC adhesive, PU adhesive, heat sealable adhesive and contact glue.

ShellSol™ D100 S by Shell Chemicals is a high flash, slow evaporating hydrocarbon solvent. It possesses high stability and low odor. It has undergone a high degree of careful controlled refining. It is low in levels of impurities such as sulfur, olefins and aromatics. It has a shelf life of 12 months.
