Plasticizers for Adhesives and Sealants

DAPRO® FX 514 by Elementis is a VOC-free, low odor plasticizer prepared from renewable resources. It provides enhanced tackiness and flexibility. It is suitable for aqueous adhesives and sealants for flexible floorings and wood floorings.

• Recommended dosage level is 1-5% by weight of the formulation.
• DAPRO® FX 514 has a shelf life of 3 years from the date of manufacture.

Benzoflex™ 2-45 Plasticizer by Eastman is oxydiethylene dibenzoate. It is an excellent solvator for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and also shows compatibility with it. Flexible vinyl formulations which are based on this plasticizer can be processed quicker and at lower temperatures than vinyl based on a di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate. Benzoflex™ 2-45 Plasticizer is resistant to extraction from the vinyl by aliphatic and oily solvents and thickens the polyvinyl acetate emulsions due to which the adhesives are comparatively stable.

Benzoflex™ 9-88 plasticizer by Eastman is a high solvating plasticizer. It is used in cyanoacrylate adhesives, latex caulks, polysulfide sealants, polyurethane adhesives and polyurethane sealants.

Dibutyl Maleate (DBM) by Chemceed is a dibutyl maleate. Acts as a plasticizer. It is suitable for vinyl resins and copolymers applications involving PVC and vinyl acetates. Dibutyl Maleate (DBM)is used in adhesives.

Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) by Chemceed is a dibutyl phthalate grade. It acts as a plasticizer used in applications such as adhesives, lacquers and printing inks. It is used as a secondary plasticizer with other phthalates for highly concentrated PVC compounds. Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) is recommended for adhesives & cements, cosmetics, plasticizers, rubber, anti foam, insecticides and lacquers. It is also designed for lubricant, nail care, nail polish, solvent, textile lubricant and vinyl products.

Castor Oil First Special Grade by Darwin Chemical Company is triglyceride of fatty acid. It acts as a plasticizer. It contains ricinoleic acid cis-12-hydroxyoctadec-9-enoic acid, an eighteen carbon hydroxylated fatty acid with one double bond. Castor Oil First Special Grade is recovered from castor beans by use of hydraulic press in continuous mechanical screw expellers, followed by solvent extraction.

CALCIUM STEARATE POS by SO.G.I.S. Industria Chimica is an octadecanoic acid/ calcium soap. It acts as a plasticizer. Available in powder form. CALCIUM STEARATE POS is compatible with polyolefins and suitable for glues.

Benzyl Butyl Phthalate (BBP) by Chemceed is a butyl benzyl phthalate. It is a high solvating, fast fusing plasticizer with high efficiency. It can be used in PVC and other variety of resins. Benzyl Butyl Phthalate (BBP) is used in adhesives and caulks.

DovPlast - 1101 by PT. Dover Chemical is an aqueous, high-performance polycarboxylate ether superplasticizer. It is designed as a high range water reducer in concrete and precast applications, with great slump retaining ability.

• It can be applied to high rises and large sized building requiring medium to high strength and high fluidity concretes.
• DovPlast - 1101 is easily formulated with various types of cement, effective for use at low doses, thereby increasing productivity and reducing costs.
• It is recommended in adhesive applications.
• It has a shelf life of 1 year.

VENLOPL TOTM by Syntheo is a trioctyl trimellitate plasticizer. It offers flexibility, heat-resistant and long-term durability. It maintains performance even under elevated temperatures, making it ideal for critical and safety-focused components.

• It provides high ester purity, low acidity, formulation stability and moisture content.
