Plasticizers for Adhesives and Sealants

DAPRO® FX 514 by Elementis is a VOC-free, low odor plasticizer prepared from renewable resources. It provides enhanced tackiness and flexibility. It is suitable for aqueous adhesives and sealants for flexible floorings and wood floorings.

• Recommended dosage level is 1-5% by weight of the formulation.
• DAPRO® FX 514 has a shelf life of 3 years from the date of manufacture.

Benzoflex™ 9-88 plasticizer by Eastman is a high solvating plasticizer. It is used in cyanoacrylate adhesives, latex caulks, polysulfide sealants, polyurethane adhesives and polyurethane sealants.

Benzoflex™ 131 plasticizer by Eastman is isodecyl benzoate which acts as a plasticizer. It is a water-insoluble clear, low viscous organic liquid with mild ester odor. It is compatible with PVC and is used as a low viscosity plasticizer for plastisols or as a low viscosity, high-solvating plasticizer. It is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. Applications include peroxides as well as PVC plastisols. Benzoflex™ 131 plasticizer is listed in TSCA (US Toxic Substances Control Act), DSL (Canadian Domestic Substances List), AICS / NICNAS (Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances and National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme), ECL (Korean Toxic Substances Control Act), PICCS (Philippines Inventory) and IECSC (Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances in China) inventory bodies.

DovPlast - 1101 by PT. Dover Chemical is an aqueous, high-performance polycarboxylate ether superplasticizer. It is designed as a high range water reducer in concrete and precast applications, with great slump retaining ability.

• It can be applied to high rises and large sized building requiring medium to high strength and high fluidity concretes.
• DovPlast - 1101 is easily formulated with various types of cement, effective for use at low doses, thereby increasing productivity and reducing costs.
• It is recommended in adhesive applications.
• It has a shelf life of 1 year.

Benzoflex™ 352 plasticizer by Eastman is a white flake solid plasticizer. Designed for hot-melt adhesives and sealants. All components of Benzoflex™ 352 plasticizer are listed in TSCA, DSL, CEPA, ECL, IECSC.

VENLOPL TOTM by Syntheo is a trioctyl trimellitate plasticizer. It offers flexibility, heat-resistant and long-term durability. It maintains performance even under elevated temperatures, making it ideal for critical and safety-focused components.

• It provides high ester purity, low acidity, formulation stability and moisture content.
• It enhances durability and mechanical integrity.
• It is used in gasket, automotive, construction, building, electronics, electrical, packaging and technical films.
• VENLOPL TOTM has a shelf life of 24 months.

Sebacic Acid (Cofco) by Cofco International is a solvent, plasticizer and cross-linking agent. It is a dicarboxylic acid derived from castor oil through dry distillation with caustic soda at high temperatures. It acts as a stabilizer in alkyd resins, polyesters and polyurethanes. Sebacic Acid (Cofco) enhances the antirust properties of lubricants. It is recommended for use in adhesive applications.

Di-n-Hexyl Phthalate BY Indo-Nippon Chemical. It acts as a plasticizer. It is recommended for adhesives and polysulfide sealants. It imparts low temperature flexibility. Di-n-Hexyl Phthalate is compatible with PVC and nitrile rubber. It offers fast fusion performance.

Jayflex™ DIDP (0.12% TCA) by ExxonMobil Chemical is a general-purpose high-molecular-weight plasticizer. It offers higher permanency for better resistance to aging, increasing product life, lower density and efficiency and increased PVC compound electrical resistivity for better insulation properties compared to DOP. It provides low fogging for reduced car interior emissions, sustained flexibility in cold conditions and better lubrication. Jayflex™ DIDP (0.12% TCA) is an excellent substitute for di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DOP) in most flexible PVC applications. It is compatible with other non-PVC polymers such as polyurethanes or polyacrylates and is used in sealants. It is a REACH compliant.

Jayflex™ DIDP-E by ExxonMobil Chemical is a general-purpose high-molecular-weight plasticizer. It offers higher permanency for better resistance to aging, increasing product life, lower density and efficiency and increased PVC compound electrical resistivity for better insulation properties compared to DOP. It provides low fogging for reduced car interior emissions, sustained flexibility in cold conditions and better lubrication than DOP for lower energy consumption with higher extrusion outputs. It contains 0.10-0.20 wt% 1, 1, 3-Tris (2-methyl-4-hydroxy-5-t-butylphenyl) butane antioxidant on added basis. Jayflex™ DIDP-E is an excellent substitute for di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DOP) in most flexible PVC applications. It is compatible with other non-PVC polymers such as polyurethanes or polyacrylates and is used in sealants. It is a REACH compliant.
