Dispersants for Adhesives and Sealants

NUOSPERSE® FX 504 by Elementis is ammonium salt of a polymeric carboxylic acid- based low foaming, polymeric pigment dispersing agent. It works effectively for many hydrophilic pigments and extenders.

• It counteracts flocculation, floating, flooding and pigment settling.
• It offers improved performance and long term stability of the paint and avoids viscosity increase.
• NUOSPERSE® FX 504 shows excellent compatibility with polymeric binders used in adhesives.
• Recommended dosage level is 0.1-1%.
• It has a shelf life of 2 years.

NUOSPERSE® FX 9360 by Elementis is a high molecular weight wetting and dispersing agent. It is a highly branched copolymer containing multiple anchoring groups.

• It is suitable for dispersion of carbon black and organic pigments.
• It deflocculates pigments and prevents re-flocculation through steric hindrance.
• It reduces grinding time and mill base viscosity.
• It improves color development, hiding power, gloss and evenness.
• It is suitable for solvent & solvent-free type epoxy- and PU adhesives & sealants.
• The recommended dosage level is 20-40% for organic pigments and 50-150% for carbon black.
• NUOSPERSE® FX 9360 has a shelf life of 2 years.

Rhodoline® 7500 by Syensqo is an APE-free, low-VOC polymeric dispersant designed for adhesives and sealants.

• It is compatible with broad pigment (organic, inorganic or carbon black) & resin range.
• It helps formulations maintain low viscosity even at high pigment concentrations, making them easier to handle and process.
• It offers excellent dispersing efficiency, which can help reduce milling time while supporting strong and consistent color development.
• Rhodoline® 7500 can reduce the need for multiple additives by combining wetting, dispersing and compatibility functions in one product, helping reduce formulation complexity and costs.

TEGOPREN® 5890 by Evonik is an organo-modified siloxane. It is a solvent-free, easy to handle liquid, acts as an anti-foaming and wetting agent. It is highly efficient in fighting dry foam and shows an outstanding dispersibility and dilution stability. It improves the dewatering of S-PVC after stripping. It is recommended for the production of transfer labels and tapes or for laminating processes as well as for the production of dispersions like reaction, blow down and stripping.

• It is compatible with cellulose, polyvinyl alcohols, PVC suspension, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers (EVAc) and polyvinyl acetate (PVAc).
• TEGOPREN® 5890 is used in water-based polymerization processes and adhesives.
• The recommended dosage may vary between 0.01 to 1.0%.
• It has a shelf life of 12 months.

Dynasylan® 6498 by Evonik is an oligomeric siloxane. Used in adhesives and sealants. Acts as an adhesion promoter, dispersion and hydrophobation agent in mineral filled compounds. Provides improved filler dispersion, good processability, highly reduced water-uptake, very good balance between tensile strength and elongation at break at a high level and improved chemical resistance. Offers benefits such as strongly reduced tendency to stress cracking, higher impact strength and higher abrasion resistance. Listed with EINECS/ELINCS, PICCS, TSCA, IECSC, ENCSC and ECL. The minimum shelf life of Dynasylan® 6498 is 12 months.

Polyvinyl Alcohol by Foru Chemtech acts as a dispersing agent. It is used as a paper sizing agent and for warp sizing in textiles. Polyvinyl Alcohol is suitable for use in adhesives.

Zephrym™ PD 4913 by Croda is a dispersant for organic & inorganic pigments and fillers in aqueous environments. Zephrym™ PD 4913 produces high-quality dispersions using untreated pigments. This additive shows high affinity to pigment surface and allows high loading of pigment and fillers at low viscosity. Zephrym™ PD 4913 is designed for adhesives and sealants.

Zephrym™ PD 4974 by Croda is a low VOC, polymeric dispersant. Zephrym™ PD 4974 is designed for iron oxide pigments. This additive provides stability, enhanced color development, and reduces the need for thickeners. Zephrym™ PD 4974 is used in adhesives and sealants.

Maxemul™ 7102 by Croda is a very versatile, polymeric o/w emulsifier and dispersant. It is suitable for alkyd resin emulsification with minimum impact on film properties. This additive provides excellent colloidal stability, compatibility with pigments & fillers, and compatibility with high-ionic-strength media. It improves storage stability at low and high temperatures. This non-migratory, non-whitening additive provides gloss retention, sustained improved adhesion properties of applied films, and high affinity to pigment surface. Maxemul™ 7102 allows high loading of pigment and fillers at low viscosity.

DEUREX® E 11 B by Deurex is a non-polar polyethylene wax. Acts as a dispersing and release agent. DEUREX® E 11 B is suitable for use in hot-melt adhesives.
