LANXESS raises prices of sulfur-based products by 40% amid tensions
Last update on Apr 7, 2026
LANXESS is raising the prices of its Advanced Industrial Intermediates business unit’s sulfur-based products by an average of 40% with immediate effect. The affected products include sulfuric acid, oleum and sodium bisulfite, among others.
Ongoing geopolitical tensions have led to significantly higher costs in particular for sulfur, logistic and energy costs. That requires a price adjustment outside the regular schedule.
Despite intensive efforts to maintain stable prices, an adjustment is necessary to ensure the long-term reliability and sustainability of supplies.
