Kuraray to showcase MPDs & polyols at PU TECH 2025

Kuraray announces its participation at PU TECH 2025, where it will showcase its innovative range of MPD and polyols for adhesives and sealants applications.
Kuraray will be at booth #S1D.05 at the event, which will take place from April 9th to 11th at the India Expo Centre, Greater Noida, Near New Delhi, India.

MPDs
MPD (3-Methyl-1,5-pentanediol) is an amorphous diol, known for imparting excellent properties to polyurethanes. Its unique methyl branch structure enhances softness, transparency, and compatibility.
MPD contributes to increased operating efficiency by inhibiting cohesion and offers good hydrolysis resistance, helping improve the durability of polyurethane products. Common applications include its use in polyurethanes as polyols and chain extenders, as a solvent, and in the production of acrylate monomers.

Polyols
Kuraray offers a versatile range of polyester and polycarbonate polyols designed for various industrial applications. These polyols are available in different molecular weights and are characterized by their amorphous, liquid nature with low viscosity at room temperature, enhancing operational efficiency. They exhibit excellent compatibility with solvents and other polyols, including polyether and conventional types, allowing for flexible formulation possibilities.
The applications of Kuraray Polyol is diverse. The polyester polyols include:
- Adipate: Ideal for printing inks, coatings, TPU, and synthetic leathers.
- Terephthalate/Isophthalate: Suitable for adhesives, coatings, and polyurethane dispersions.
- Sebacate: Commonly used in coatings and TPU.
Polycarbonate polyols are primarily used in synthetic leathers, urethane films, and coatings.
