Clariant & Omya to showcase SMP sealants stabilizer at ECS 2025 and presents , an innovative stabilizer solution for SMP sealants market, at the European Coatings Show 2025.

New benchmarks in weathering & heat stability performance

The partners shares new data demonstrating how this innovation sets new benchmarks in weathering performance and heat stability while meeting stringent regulatory requirements.

"Since its launch, AddWorks® IBC 760 has demonstrated exceptional performance in real-world applications," said Martin Oktai, head of Business Development and key principal management at Omya. "The product's proven track record in extending service life and superior weathering stability has made it a preferred choice for manufacturers looking to enhance their SMP sealant formulations."

Optimized packaging now uses 80% less paper

In May 2024, Clariant and Omya implemented a significant packaging improvement for AddWorks® IBC 760, further enhancing its sustainability profile. The new packaging solution has delivered remarkable results:

  • A more than 80% reduction in paper usage through innovative packaging redesign
  • 125% increased logistics efficiency
  • Doubled shipping capacity from 6,400 kg to 14,400 kg per truckload
  • Reduced CO2 emissions through reduced packaging and higher transport efficiency

The optimized packaging design features 15 kg paper bags with 30 bags per pallet, enabling 450 kg per pallet and 32 pallets per truck. This improvement has significantly reduced resource consumption and material waste while improving transportation efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions.

Addresses yellowing, UV stability & regulatory compliance

Developed through close collaboration between Clariant and Omya, AddWorks® IBC 760 addresses key industry challenges including yellowing, UV stability, and regulatory compliance. The solution extends SMP sealant service life by up to 50% compared to conventional stabilizers, reaching 3000 hours in accelerated weathering tests.

AddWorks® IBC 760 aligns with Clariant's commitment to circularity, a megatrend shaping the industry beyond 2027. By extending product lifespans and reducing replacement frequency, this innovation contributes directly to circular economy principles in construction applications.

"The market's positive response confirms that we've successfully met a critical need for advanced stabilization solutions," commented Stefan Brejc, global vice president, Segment Coatings & Adhesives, Clariant. "Our joint development has led to an amazing innovation that helps sealant manufacturers meet the highest performance standards."

As sustainability continues to drive innovation in the construction and automotive industries, extending product service life has become a key focus. AddWorks® IBC 760 is designed to meet this need by significantly improving the durability of SMP sealants, reducing replacement frequency and ultimately contributing to reduced material consumption and waste.
