High-performance Alternative to Conventional Fillers
3M Glass Bubbles provide a high-performance alternative to conventional fillers in a variety of materials. These hollow glass microspheres are not only offering weight saving opportunities but are also contributing to functional benefits ranging from dimensional stability to solar reflectivity. 3M Glass Bubbles are made of soda-lime borosilicate glass, which is a true glass with inherently greater water and chemical resistance than other hollow glass microspheres made of sodium silicate glass, also known as water glass.
'The 3M Glass Bubbles will strengthen our specialty product portfolio in France and Iberia. We are proud to receive the confidence from 3M to represent them in these additional countries. Through our Innovation & Application Centers, we will support our customers with formulation work and technical advice, so that they can benefit the most from the technical and sustainability advantages, that the 3M Glass Bubbles are offering,' said Christine Bryant, president global material science and president NA Brenntag Specialties.
'We are delighted to expand our partnership with Brenntag. Our range of innovative materials, combined with Brenntag's depth of experience and industry knowledge, will provide end-users with a compelling proposition which will help them to overcome a number of industry challenges such as light weighting, thermal dispersion and production efficiency,' said Sean Appleton, EMEA business leader, advanced material division at 3M comments.
