Mathe® Aluminum Stearate No. 9 by Norac is an aluminum salt of stearic acid. It is used to increase body and assists heat stability in vinyl plastisols. It is used to increase hardness and raise the melting point while retaining flexibility. It appears as free flowing fine white powder with slight fatty odor and is soluble in water. It has a very high gelling property, allowing viscosity control without clouding. Minor amounts of Mathe® Aluminum Stearate No. 9 improves appearance and ease application by preventing crystallization in wax products e.g. crayons, candles etc.

Mathe® Sodium Stearate

Mathe® Sodium Stearate by Norac is a sodium salt of stearic acid. It acts as a processing aid because of its high melting point and lubricant for certain polycarbonates and nylons. It exhibits excellent gelling properties in polar solvents, especially short chain alcohols. It appears as free flowing fine white powder with slight fatty odor and is soluble in water. Mathe® Sodium Stearate dissolves in polar solvents which allow the formation of rigid or semi-rigid gels used in cosmetic sticks.
