DISPERBYK® -180

DISPERBYK® -180 by BYK is a solvent-free wetting and dispersing agent. It is alkylol ammonium salt of a block copolymer with acidic groups. It deflocculates pigments through steric stabilization of the pigments. It provides equal electrical charge to pigments and thus avoids possible co-flocculation of pigments that are not equally charged. It offers high gloss and improved color strength. DISPERBYK® -180 increases transparency and hiding power of the pigments. It reduces millbase viscosity. It is designed for aqueous, solvent-borne and solvent-free coatings. It is applicable in general industrial, architectural, coil, wood, furniture, protective and automotive coatings and pigment concentrates. It is suitable for food contact printing inks. Its recommended dosage level is 5-10% for inorganic pigments and 1.5-2.5% for titanium dioxides. It complies with REACH regulations.
